چکیده

The combination of catalytic methods provides multiple advantages in organic synthesis, allowing access to diverse molecules a straightforward manner. Merging metal and enzyme catalysis is currently receiving great attention due the possibility assemble C−C coupling, olefin metathesis, hydration other reactions with exquisite stereospecificity displayed by enzymes. Thus, this minireview organized based on action species (Pd, Ru, Au, Ir, Fe…) different Special will be paid design sequential processes concurrent cascades, presenting solutions such as use surfactants or compartmentalization strategies for those cases where incompatibilities could hamper overall process.

Tandem rhodium catalysis: exploiting sulfoxides for asymmetric transition-metal catalysis.

Sulfoxides are uncommon substrates for transition-metal catalysis due to their propensity to inhibit catalyst turnover. In a collaborative effort with Ken Houk, we developed the first dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) of allylic sulfoxides using asymmetric rhodium-catalyzed hydrogenation. A detailed mechanistic analysis of this transformation using both experimental and theoretical methods revea...

One-Pot Asymmetric Nitro-Mannich/Hydroamination Cascades for the Synthesis of Pyrrolidine Derivatives: Combining Organocatalysis and Gold Catalysis

The highly enantioselective preparation of trisubstituted pyrrolidine derivatives employing a one-pot nitro-Mannich/hydroamination cascade is reported. This cascade approach utilizes an asymmetric bifunctional organocatalytic nitro-Mannich reaction followed by a gold-catalyzed allene hydroamination reaction. The products are afforded in good yields and excellent diastereo- and enantioselectivit...

A supramolecular approach to combining enzymatic and transition metal catalysis.

The ability of supramolecular host-guest complexes to catalyse organic reactions collaboratively with an enzyme is an important goal in the research and discovery of synthetic enzyme mimics. Herein we present a variety of catalytic tandem reactions that employ esterases, lipases or alcohol dehydrogenases and gold(I) or ruthenium(II) complexes encapsulated in a Ga(4)L(6) tetrahedral supramolecul...

Column asymmetric catalysis for beta-lactam synthesis.

[structure] A catalytic asymmetric reaction process was designed involving the use of solid-phase reagents and catalysts that constitute the packing of a series of "reaction columns". This process was applied to the catalytic asymmetric synthesis of beta-lactams, yielding pure product after crystallization with exceptional enantio- and diastereoselectivity.

Chemoenzymatic Resolution in Dynamic Systems: Screening, Classification and Asymmetric Synthesis

This thesis is divided into four parts, all centered around Constitutional Dynamic Chemistry (CDC) and Dynamic Kinetic Resolution (DKR) using biocatalysts for selective transformations, and their applications in screening of bioactive compounds, organic synthesis, and enzyme classification. In part one, an introduction to CDC and DKR is presented, illustrating the basic concepts, practical cons...
